The Columbus Monument (or in Spanish 'Mirador de Colon´) is a monument that was built especially for Christopher Columbus. The monument is 60m tall (197 ft) and is located at the end of the Ramblas. 'Mirador de Colón' was built as a reminder that Barcelona is where Columbus reported to Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand after his first voyage to America. The monument was constructed for Exposición Universal de Barcelona (1888) and is located at the site where he returned to Spain after his trip to America!
